原発広報の事業費は電気料金をもとにした税金で賄われている。福島事故前と比べると総額は半分程度になったが、事故後も国が原発関係の宣伝をし、担当省庁の官僚ＯＢや電力​会社関係者がその利益を得るという構図が続いていた。

　この事業は、経産省の「原子力広聴・広報等事業」や文科省の「原子力教育支援事業」など。

　目的は「放射線の理解促進や原子力政策の情報提供で国民の信頼回復を図る」などとされる。経産省の事業は市民や原発立地地域が対象で、原子力研究者らの講演や放射性廃棄​物のワークショップなどを開催。文科省の場合は放射線測定器の貸し出しや教職員への放射線セミナーのほか、新聞・テレビ広告などを行う。

　朝日新聞は両省の発注状況の資料を入手し、受注した法人側へも取材して分析した。それによると、２０１１、１２年度に発注した原発広報事業は、経産省が４９件計１４億８​千万円で、文科省は１８件計１０億円。民間企業や財団・社団法人など計３４の組織が受注した。

　受注した組織の内訳を調べたところ、（１）両省のＯＢが理事に就任している６法人（２）現在は官僚の天下りはいないが、電力会社の役員や元役員が理事・監事にいる４法人​――の計１０法人が、事業費の６６％にあたる３３件計１６億３千万円分を受注していた。残りは広告会社などだった。

東京電力福島第1原発事故に伴う放射性物質の除染作業をめぐり、福島県内の市町村から再除染の実施を求める声が強まっている。住宅地などで除染が一巡した後も、政府が長期​目標としている「年間線量1ミリシーベルト以下」まで数値が下がらないケースがあるからだ。放射性物質の取り残しなどが指摘されており、複数の市町村が実態調査に乗り出し​た。
　一部が旧緊急時避難準備区域の川内村では、除染終了後、同区域内1061戸のうち、約480戸で1ミリシーベルトを超えていたことが発覚。4月から村独自の詳細調査を始​めた。放射線の高低を色分けして写す「ガンマカメラ」を使用し、放射線が高いことを示す赤や黄で表示された部分を中心に手持ちの測定器で改めて線量を確認。6月中旬までに​130戸の調査を終えた。
　同村の遠藤真一放射線管理員は「軒下の土やコケ、U字溝は放射性物質の取りこぼしが出やすい」と指摘する。雪が積もる冬までに調査を終了し、2013年度中に結果をまと​めた上で、国に再除染を要望する考えだ。
